Game Day!

The two peas have been missing BYU's games like crazy! They got the chance to see one live at the Dallas Cowboy's Stadium. The cougars lost, but it was still fun to root for their team.
The wife ready to root for the team. Big stadium!

Check out that incredible gigantic screen!
We had such good seats, so close to the action!

State Fair of Texas

The two peas took a break from school this week to enjoy the State Fair of Texas.

They tasted four varieties of fried foods: buffalo chicken dipped in pancake batter and fried, corny dog fried, cookie dough fried, and strawberries dipped in chocolate dipped in waffle batter and fried.
That's a ton of fried even when you split it!

They caught a glimpse of this year's butter sculpture:
Yes; the cow and all the people are pure butter!
They enjoyed an awesome acrobatic performance by Cirque Shanghai, pictured below.

And they enjoyed observing and petting animals from around the world.
Little baby goat
Emu
Momma Kangaroo and her baby waking up from a nap in her pouch!

Yummy Foods

For the wife, certain yummy foods help make a heaven on earth. All growing up dad made sushi and mom baked pies. So lately I've been striving to perfect these two skills and enjoying the fruits of my labor, even if they don't turn out perfect. They sure taste good!

Creating Characters

The two peas have gone into the business of creating characters for an awesome parody written by a friend. Complete with one-liners and slapstick!
I've always enjoyed acting, and now hubby gets to join me. It takes a lot to make a character, but when all is said and done, you just get out there and have a ton of fun and it all comes together.

Here's some recent highlights!
Learning our lines and staging with the rest of the folks.
Hubby and the Henchmen (that sounds like a band!)
A quirky librarian?

Feeling Crafty

Lately the wife has been feeling crafty, creative. She's decided it's high time to cook certain types of foods until she gets them just right, like biscuits, and time to finish sewing projects so they're not taking up space in the closets. Who knew biscuits would be so hard to get right, to make them raise and flake perfectly. But when you do get them to bake the way you want, my goodness how they taste good.

The Hair and the Phone

Whilst on vacation, the wife got a haircut. And not just any haircut, a short haircut. It hasn't been this short for at least 8 years or so. Then the two peas got new phones, which they find are very addicting. like new toys on Christmas. So here goes posting an entry using a new phone and sporting a new hairdo.

Summer Vacation: Part Two

The two peas spent a quiet weekend with hubby's family and then drove out to the sunny west coast for another week and a half of bliss. The sun was shinning and the temperature was under 90 degrees! They went boogie boarding, visited a science museum, and played tons of games (mostly dominoes; once the two peas introduced the game to the wife's family no one could stop playing it).

Here are some highlights in pictures:

The wife got a haircut!
Mini-golfing
Homemade Strawberry Pies!
A game that lasted four days.....
Creative Hairdos!
Fun at the beach

Climbing around at the museum

Finger sword fights!
One of those domino games
Finishing a painting that's been on hold for 12 years or more....
Catching some excellent waves!
